I have wagered on millions of hands of chemin de fer. I started sneaking into the gambling halls when I was sixteen. I have enjoyed online vingt-et-un, I have counted cards, and worked as part of a team for a short while. Given all that I have still lost all kinds of funds at blackjack. The casinos have made it nearly impossible to defeat the game.

I still enjoy the game and play on a frequent basis. Over the years I have played a variation of chemin de fer called "The Take it Leave it Method". You won’t get rich with this method or beat the house, however you will have an abundance of fun. This method is based on the idea that blackjack appears to be a match of streaks. When you are on fire your hot, and when you’re not you are NOT!

I play basic strategy vingt-et-un. When I do not win I wager the table minimum on the subsequent hand. If I lose again I bet the lowest amount allowed on the subsequent hand again etc. Once I hit I take the winnings paid to me and I bet the original wager again. If I win this hand I then leave the winnings paid to me and now have double my original bet on the table. If I win again I take the payout paid to me, and if I succeed the next hand I leave it for a total of 4 times my original bet. I keep wagering this way "Take it Leave it etc". Once I do not win I return the wager back down to the original sum.

I am very strict and do not "chicken out". It gets very thrilling on occasion. If you succeed at a few hands in series your wagers go up very quick. Before you realize it you are betting $100-200per hand. I have had great runs a number of times now. I left a $5 table at the Flamingo a few years back with $750 after 35 minutes using this technique! And a couple of days ago in Vegas I left a table with $1200!

You need to understand that you can relinquish much faster this way too!. But it really makes the game more enjoyable. And you will be surprised at the streaks you witness wagering this way. Below is a chart of what you would wager if you kept winning at a five dollar game.

Bet 5 dollar
Take $5 paid to you, leave the initial five dollar wager

Bet five dollar
Leave 5 dollar paid-out to you for a total bet of 10 dollar

Bet 10 dollar
Take $10 paid to you, leave the original $10 wager

Wager ten dollar
Leave 10 dollar paid-out to you for a total bet of twenty dollar

Wager 20 dollar
Take 20 dollar paid-out to you, leave the original twenty dollar wager

Bet 20 dollar
Leave $20 paid-out to you for a total wager of forty dollar

Wager $40
Take $40 paid to you, leave the original 40 dollar wager

Wager forty dollar
Leave $40 paid to you for a total bet of $80

Bet $80
Take $80 paid-out to you, leave the original eighty dollar wager

Bet 80 dollar
Leave $80 paid to you for a total wager of $160

Bet $160
Take one hundred and sixty dollar paid to you, leave the first $160 wager

If you departed at this moment you would be up 315 dollar !!

It’s iffy to go on a run this long, but it can happen. And when it does you can’t alter and lower your bet or the final result will not be the same.
